Design requirements of 12V lithium ion battery BMS
The protection of 12V lithium-ion battery is very important. In the application of 12V lithium-ion battery, there must be a battery protection chip to prevent the overcharge, over discharge and over current of the battery.The 12V lithium-ion battery protection circuit will increase the additional loss of battery energy and reduce the battery application time, which requires that the lithium-ion battery protection circuit should be able to achieve low-power consumption in high-precision.
In addition to the basic functions of overcharge protection, over discharge protection and over-current protection, a lithium-ion battery protection chip should also meet the following requirements:
(1) Ultra low power consumption. When the lithium-ion battery protection circuit is working, the power consumption is the battery loss. Therefore, we need to minimize the power consumption of lithium-ion battery protection circuit.
(2) High precision voltage detection. In order to make the lithium-ion battery protection circuit make correct response to different working conditions of the battery, the protection circuit must be able to accurately detect the voltage parameters such as overcharge protection voltage, over discharge protection voltage and so on.
(3) It works correctly in large voltage range. Because the power supply voltage of the lithium-ion battery protection circuit is the battery voltage, and the battery voltage can fluctuate in a large range, it is required that the lithium-ion battery protection circuit can work correctly within this voltage range.
